About us
In September 2019, climbing was introduced to Inukjuak thanks to Audrey Hachey, a social worker and experienced climbing instructor. She gradually brought gear up to the community and brought the community centre’s unused climbing wall back to life.
In May 2021, a group of motivated youth from Inukjuak discovered a passion for climbing outdoors. Among them, four emerging leaders stood out for their dedication and energy, which quickly inspired other members of the community.
Thanks to their commitment, Inukrock officially became a registered non-profit organization in August 2022. Their collective vision led to our first major project: the development of the Lagoon Cliff site.
Since then, the voices, ideas and goals of Inukrock’s young staff and participants have shaped everything we do. Our growth has been intentional and community-driven.
